Hey, Jess here,
If you are a working mother and are looking for a scholarship or grant, then I’m glad you found this blog and I strongly suggest you keep reading…
Because upgrading my education has been the smartest thing I’ve ever done.
And if you are anything like me, you have wanted to do it for a long time but have been limited either financially or by other circumstances.
For years, I’ve wanted to get a higher education and build a new career. But back then, I thought it was impossible. I spent all my time taking care of my family. And things seemed to be going fine for a few years.
But actually things were falling apart. Including my marriage and my mental health. I was depressed and having to work my ass off just to put food on the table. You probably know how it feels as a working mother. Not enough time or money and a challenge just to keep the family balanced.
Recently I broke out of my slump and made the decision to chance my life. I wanted to study but was still financially strapped. So I started my long winded search for financial aid for college or university. I was considering general studies and then a degree, or something practical like a dental assistant diploma.
I tried going to local college financial aid offices, but was not wanted since I was not a current student there. I tried looking all over the internet and spent endless hours on forums. But it was like a dog chasing it’s own tail. Just going round and round and was feeling like giving up.
Finally I stumbled upon an excelent list of schools that I could easily apply for information from online. This was my lucky break. An extensive selection and I only wish I’d found it a long time ago. (sorry, the link I found is now broken). I’ll update this soon.
Now there is one negative thing I have to say about the service. At first I felt a little overwhelmed with which schools and scholarships to apply for. But soon got the hang of it and did my best.
I hope you found this useful. It is probaby best to apply for info from a handful of the schools all at the same time.
